Played junior golf in both the Washington DC and in the San Diego areas. Played on the golf team at McLean High School in McLean, Virginia (1966-1968) and played on the high school team at Mission Bay High School in San Diego (1968-1970). Won several junior tournaments in the DC area including the Washington DC Junior Match Play. Played two years of college golf at Fresno State (1970-1972). Knew I would never make it as a tour pro so studied turf management with plans of being a golf course superintendent but later got sidetracked into teaching turf and horticulture at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. After college I have just played social golf but now that I am retired I am anxious to get back into competitive golf. Love golf course architecture and to play as many different courses as possible and now have about 395 different courses I have been lucky enough to enjoy. Have organized an annual Survivor Tour with friends for 23 years straight where we go to hot locations in the summer and play 36 holes per day - our record is 15 rounds in 8 days on the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama - all from the back tees - boy that was a mistake but lots of fun!
